Patient Care Technician Program

The Forum offers a trilogy program that provides students with the designation as Patient Care Technician with this 36-week program.

Classes Include:

  • Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)
  • Phlebotomy Technician
  • EKG Technician
  • CPR training

Class Descriptions

Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA):

This course teaches the basic nursing skills necessary to become a nursing assistant.  Students are led from the integrated roles of the health care team to the specific duties of the nursing assistant and the skills necessary to give basic patient care and how to best engage with families.

Phlebotomhy Technician:

Prepares professionals to collect blood specimens from clients for the purpose of laboratory analysis.  Students will become familiar with all aspects related to blood collection and develop comprehensive skills to perform venipunctures completely and safely.

EKG Technician:

Prepares students to function as EKG Technicians.  This course will include important practice and background information on anatomy of the heart and physiology, medical disease processes, medical terminology, medical ethics, legal aspects of patient contact, laboratory assisting, electrocardiography and echocardiography.
